Bettman on TSN 1050 talking on the Phoenix #Coyotes situation... Host: “Tuesday night; will that be the last (cont) http://tl.gd/n_1rl3vhp

Bettman on TSN 1050 talking on the Phoenix #Coyotes situation...
Host: “Tuesday night; will that be the last night you’ll be able to call yourself the owner of the phoenix coyotes?”
Bettman: “Well, the city council in Glendale has to vote, but that will put us on a course as to what happens next, and then you have to go through the legal formalities of doing a closing with a new purchaser. Our hope is the Glendale city council does what is necessary and appropriate for the team to remain there, for the building to be operated, and we can then move forward on that basis. If that doesn’t happen, we’re then going to have to pursue our options–and there are a variety of them–and anticipating your next question, I’m not going to tell you what they are because we’re focused on the team staying in Arizona.”
Host: “Rarely are you wrong, but you were wrong in this case. No one can accuse you of not doing your part to keep hockey in Arizona.”
Bettman: “You know, you and I and a lot of people can have a debate as to whether or not we went too long. We, in every instance where we’ve moved a franchise–every instance–do everything possible until there’s no alternative. Now part of what caused this transaction to take as long as it did was its complexity, and the fact that for 2 of the years the city of Glendale was subsidizing the operations. And to walk away from a city that’s prepared to do that isn’t something you take lightly.

À suivre et en développement
